Ecocruz is an all-inclusive three-day sailing exploration of the Bay of Islands Maritime Park. No other trip will let you exprience this unique area in quite the same way.

The idea behind Ecocruz is to let you enjoy the Bay of Islands the way the locals do - on a boat with a small group of like-minded people - take in the natural beauty at a leisurely pace, get active if you feel like it but most of all spend a few carefree days in a stunning setting doing things you enjoy. Our journey will take you onto the ocean and to uninhabited islands, remote beaches and rugged, coastal headlands where you can explore our destinations by kayaking, snorkeling and walking. There is no standard route or itinerary as these are weather dependent. We always aim to take in the top attractions as well as hidden gems off the beaten track.

Our route and itinerary are dependant on sea and weather conditions. However to give you an idea, here are some of the places we visit regularly:

• Cape Brett and the famous "Hole in the Rock"

• Urupukapuka Island
• Roberton Island (and the Twin Lagoons)
• Whangaroa Harbour

• The Cavalli Islands (where the Rainbow Warrior lies)

The Manawanui is one of the largest overnight charter yachts in the Bay of Islands and the only ocean-going vessel capable of accommodating up to 16 passengers overnight. We attract interest from groups as varied as bird watchers, divers, youth holidays, sailing schools, wedding parties, coastal kayakers and others.

“A three-day sail on the twenty-two meter twin masted Manawanui which takes up to 10 people around the Bay with the emphasis on exploration and appreciation of the natural environment.  Excellent meals are included, along with on-board dorm style and double cabin accommodation, use of kayaks, snorkel gear, fishing tackle and a good deal of local knowledge and enthusiasm.”

We often get asked where our passengers can leave their car whilst on a cruise with us. We have teamed up with the Averill Court Motel who will kindly let you park your car at the motel at no extra charge for bookings made directly with the motel. You can stay the night before and/or after.

The Averill Court Motel has great reviews and is located close to the beach, less than 1km away from the wharf from where we depart. It's often full during the summer, so please book early.
